Our Story and Purpose

Apex Consult began in 2018 when several experienced consultants found themselves increasingly uncomfortable with the conventional consulting model. We'd spent years at larger firms and observed how the pressure for billable hours and standardized methodologies often conflicted with what clients actually needed.

The founding team had worked together on various engagements and shared a conviction that consulting could be practiced differently. We wanted to build an approach centered on genuine collaboration rather than expert prescription. We believed organizations held more wisdom about their own contexts than any external consultant could bring, and that our role should be to facilitate that wisdom rather than replace it.

We established our practice in Singapore because of the city-state's dynamic business environment and the diversity of organizational challenges we could engage with. Our location provides access to organizations ranging from family businesses navigating generational transitions to regional offices of multinational corporations addressing coordination challenges across markets.

Our mission is straightforward: to support organizations in developing clarity about their direction and effectiveness in their operations. We do this through facilitation, diagnostic work, and focused support engagements that respect both the complexity of organizational life and the real constraints our clients face.

We've deliberately kept our practice modest in size. This allows us to maintain quality relationships with clients and avoid the growth pressures that can compromise consulting work. It also means we're selective about engagements, taking on projects where we believe we can genuinely add value rather than accepting everything that comes our way.
